About Us
OUR INITIATIVES

BUILDING BRIDGES
YOUTH PROGRAMS & FACILITIES

Mission: To connect the youth of Kettering and their families to strong resources, healthy adults, and programs that provide our youth with mentoring and other positive opportunities which include elements of strong character and leadership development.

Role: The role of the Building Bridges initiative is to serve in a support role for mentoring opportunities and programs for our youth. This support will include training and recruitment of mentors while identifying appropriate resources and championing best practices. We will also encourage the service organizations in Kettering to begin the process of connecting with youth through various mentoring activities.

The opportunities and programs include the on going after school programs for our middle schools, the development of a Community Garden program at Greenmont Elementary School, continuation of Camp Funtastic at JFK Elementary School, and positive interaction and relationship building with local law enforcement.
